Industry figures and organisations have responded to George Osborne’s Budget, in which he announced a 1p per pint cut in beer duty for the third year in a row.

BBPA renews call for beer duty cut to support industry's 870,000 jobs

The British Beer & Pub Association (BBPA) has renewed calls for a cut in beer duty at the next Budget after a report it commissioned showed that the brewing and pub sectors contribute £21.7bn to the economy and employ 870,000 people.

Independent stock taking business takes another step

2% alcohol duty cut could give budget £1.5bn boost

A 2 per cent alcohol duty cut could boost public finances by £1.5bn in 2015, according to an Ernst & Young report launched alongside the Wine and Spirit Trade Association’s (WSTA) ‘Drop the Duty’ campaign.
